Carlton’s iconic King & Godfree building is set to enter a new era, with owner Jamie Valmorbida bringing a trio of fresh venues to its stable over the coming year. The building — currently housing Johnny’s Green Room and Pidapipo — has been in the Valmorbida family since the ‘50s.

Leading the revival is a casual pizzeria opening December 2025 in the former Agostino site. It will be joined by a late-night cocktail and music bar in what once was the basement cellar, slated to open next year.

Meanwhile, the famed corner deli will be reborn as a neighbourhood osteria and wine bar.

“Letting go of the deli wasn’t easy,” owner Jamie Valmorbida said via a statement. “But it was time to move forward. What we’re building still carries that same spirit – just in a new way.”

Dion Hall —  the creative team behind Johnny’s Green Room, Supernormal and HER — will return to lead the design of the three venues, while Karen Martini (Johnny’s Green Room, Bar Carolina) remains as culinary director. Mark Glenn (Cumulus Inc., Dinner by Heston, Carlotta) rounds out the team as executive chef.

The pizzeria is scheduled to open in December 2025 with the other two venues opening throughout 2026.
